Spring has well and truly sprung at the Villa. This year’s renovations are complete just in time for our Summer visitors.
As an interior designer and collector of interesting bits and bobs, it’s been fun finding new homes and curating all our treasures into fun visual explosions.
Te Soro means treasure in Italian and our home is full of them. From family antiques and collectables to bits picked up locally and oversea, Moroccan Bird cages, old vintage binoculars, Deer Hides from deep in the forest of the Ureweras, we have it all.
As a designer colour is at the centre of my world , the villa is blessed with a careful collection of colours, from moody greens, subtle warm neutrals , gorgeous murky pinks and blue that thinks its green or green that thinks its blue, we have it all. The inside works seamlessly with the outside when the garden is bursting into life, new rose buds and grape leaves are exploding in different shades of green, limes, sages, and everything in between. The grass is growing, the tomato plants have flowers and the strawberries are colouring up, what a beautiful time of year.
Good design is about creating an environment which is comfortable, soothing but with the pull of excitement and mystery.
